Sunset Crater Volcano National Monument

A landscape like the moon! It's a group of volcanos with Sunset Crater being the most recent to erupt. The 1000 year old lava flow is amazing. It is surrounded by black hills that look like sand dunes with trees. They are not sand but pea sized lava gravel.

Smelling butterscotch sap in the Ponderosa Pine.

Too bad, it would make a great sledding hill.

Lenox Crater. Much older than Sunset Crater. A 1.6 mile hike. Ali loved it!
