Arizona Sonora Desert Museum

An outdoor museum and zoo dedicated to the animals and plants that live in the Sonoran desert. We saw a wide range of animals, birds, lizards, snakes, and other critters. We saw a javalina, gila monster, and several road runners! The cartoon took some artistic liberties.

On our way in we met a barn owl. Sam was in heaven!

Ali the Coati.

Sam the owl.

We were here for breakfast for the bear and the mountain lion. The keepers fed them so we did not have to sacrifice the children.
Watermelon is delicious.

These kids are vultures!!

Bighorn Sheep

Cactus impression. They can be prickly at times....

Sam the tortoise.

Minion cactus. (Not really, but that's what we thought it looked like.)

Javelina statue. We saw a live one but it was asleep.

Big Pig and Little Pig (though Javelinas are not pigs.)
